Intellectual Property
Intellectual property is the area of law which encompasses the legal rights granted to creators and inventors for their creator. These creations include literary and artistic works, symbols, names and images. the Three main areas of Intellectual Property Law are Copyright, Patent and Trademark.
Copyright Law confers exclusive rights on the creator of an ‘original form of expression’ to reproduce, adapt and publicly perform their creations. These creations include books, movies, musical compositions and works or art.
Patent Law is the area of law in which inventors of ‘new products’ and ‘processes’ may protect their rights to such inventions. This will ensure protection and of the rights and will prevent others from making, using, or selling the inventions of the inventor without their consent.
Trademark is concerned with the application of a distinctive word or symbol to a product or service. Any such word(s) or symbol may be registered to protect the rights of the creator and to prevent competitors from using the mark, symbol or distinctive word(s) without the consent of the creator OR to cause confusion in the trading/business realm.
If you have a creation or an invention, protect it, benefit from it and create your brand in the global trading society.
